Established with support from the Works Progress Administration in 1936, the garden reflects Art Deco design elements and includes significant features like the Helis Foundation Enrique Alférez Sculpture Garden and a Historic Train Garden. Admission is free for Louisiana residents on Wednesdays, with nominal fees for other visitors.
